Stop motion animation is one of the easiest techniques to adapt to the resources you can find to create an impressive digital animation.

Led by Calderdale based creative animators Alixe Lobato and Josephine von Bülow, this DIY intensive one day workshop will show participants how to mimic the professionals and start to produce your own animation stories using easy to find tools and materials.

Over the day, we will guide groups  through the animation production process from start to finish – including script writing, storyboarding, constructing a set, model making, shooting, animating and editing film.

This is a creative-led workshop and the choice of animation subject and style can be as experimental, informative and imaginative as the film- makers themselves – the only limit is your imagination.

Alixe Lobato and her team have over 25 years of award-winning experience working with some of the best-known global brands, and have substantial expertise in graphic design, animation, documentary, short form, art and storytelling across a variety of platforms as well as extensive experience in different aspects of animation, VFX and CGI.

There is a maximum of 18 places that will allow participants to work in small groups led by the animation artists. The workshop is suitable for all ages 16+.  No prior experience is necessary.  A smart phone with ability to download apps plus knowledge of how to work the phone camera is required.  All other materials are provided.
