The IOU Hebden Bridge Hostel is within ten minutes walking distance above the town located in a peaceful woodland setting, nestled into the hillside and part of the historic Birchcliffe Centre.

IOU Hebden Bridge Hostel, The Birchcliffe Centre, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, HX7 8DG

Dramatic hills, rivers, waterfalls and wooded valleys are on the doorstep as is the friendly market town of Hebden Bridge. Our town is famous for its literary connections, LGBTQ community and its pubs, restaurants, coffee houses, independent shops and cinema, canal and marina, and not forgetting iconic music venue The Trades Club. We could go on but ultimately we hope you are going to come and experience it all for yourselves.

DIRECTIONS
From Hebden Bridge town centre or Commercial Street, walk or drive up Birchcliffe Road, the postcode will take you to Chapel Avenue on the left, ignore that and take the next left, into Highfield, just after the Birchcliffe Centre (former Chapel). If driving, park in the upper car park. If walking, walk up Highfield to the lower car park, follow the chapel to the left (where the disabled car park is) and walk down the path (with the chapel on your left) and through the gate. The Hostel is located at the end of the path, to the rear of The Birchcliffe Centre.

If parking at the upper car park, take one of the paths on the left down the hill and find the Hostel at the back of the former Chapel.

Hebden Bridge is well connected with trains running regularly to Manchester, Bradford and Leeds. The hostel is a fifteen-minute walk away from the train station, and buses from the station stop outside the Birchcliffe Centre & Hostel. Taxis are available to book. Car parking is available onsite by prior arrangement.

The Hostel is centrally located in the borough of Calderdale, with a fast-growing reputation as a thriving arts community and cultural centre. 20 mins drive or train ride away takes you to Halifax with the 18th century Piece Hall and Dean Clough with its focus on contemporary art across six galleries – including IOU’s own Studio, Gallery & Workshop. Alternatively, Todmorden is close by with a burgeoning food scene and renowned music and arts venue The Golden Lion
