June 2023 – Over 2 weeks  28 Year 6 Pupils from Todmorden’s St Joseph’s and from Cornholme School stayed at the IOU Hostel for their Social Action Retreats. Funded by Community Foundation for Calderdale the children spent two days learning about the environment and how we can help care for it including canoeing to pick up litter along the canal, planting wild flowers around the hostel plus walks into the woods, storytelling, cooking and yoga.

Social Action Retreats aim to help children understand and care for their local environment and their own wellbeing.
